My baby sister graduated from high school this week! It continues to blow my mind. I attended my first day of university when she attended her first day of school. I’m sure you can guess how old that makes me.
I went home for her birthday and prom, which were only two days apart, and I gave her a bronze fox ring set with citrine eyes. She was thrilled and she wore the ring, along with the other rings I have made her, to her prom. She is an absolute stunner so obviously she looked lovely.
She is one lucky girl to have a jeweler and a professional photographer pair of sisters. Christina took these terrific photos of Elizabeth and her boyfriend, Lloyd, before the prom.
Yesterday I had a nice message from a fashion designer living in Brussels who featured my Double Finger Arrowhead Ring in a photo set on her blog, Le Petite Nina. I also joined the Etsy team It’s A Madcap Life and posted two of my rings as Madcap Charity Items. $10 from the sale of a Red Fox Ring will go to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and $10 from each sale of a Bronze Arrowhead Ring will be donated to Oxfam. Every little bit counts!
As of yesterday the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council Shop is carrying my Red and Silver Fox Rings. Be sure to pop into the NSDCC Shop and have a look around the next time you are on the Halifax Waterfront.
Finally, I made myself a pendant today from a fossil I bought in a little mineral shop while I was in Paris.
The proprietor told me that the fossils came from a quarry in Morocco. I bought two others, but I am going to keep my eyes open for more when I attend the Parrsboro Rock and Mineral Show in August.
PS - I received news last week that I have been awarded an Industry Growth Grant for my trip to the Cannes Film Festival!
PPS - It’s strawberry season and I am going to make a strawberry cobbler this evening!
